a piano in an empty place
a siren who sings for no sailor
who harmonizes with echoes and shadows
whose rocks are ivory slabs and copper string
on an island of rows upong rows of books; a library to infinity
staircases ascend into spirals ascend into empty light
deprived of senses, the meaning of words is lost to time.
a sea of nothing, divine repireve from understanding.
marble statues masquarade as companions only ever look to the stars,
reaching for a carver who never carved,
and Atlas knows the weight of the soul is heavier than that of the world,
and we are glass splintered like spider webs who slice the flesh that mourns us
